Whatever happened to the shirtjacs?

Dear Editor,

I make these brief comments hoping that it may catch the eyes of the President and his cabinet. On December 09, the President visited Anna Regina in Region Two with a team of his Cabinet Ministers. The picture that I saw on Stabroek News showed the President and at least one Minister dressed in suits. It is my view that these outreach meetings are informal and when the President and members of his cabinet travel and meet the grassroots people in various Regions they should do away with the dress suits and dress casual.

This, I think, will be much more appropriate and will send a better message to the people. Frankly, I feel dress suits by the President and his Ministers should be reserved only for the National Assembly.  Whatever happened to the Shirtjacs?

Yours faithfully,
