Mohamed’s on board Kashif and Shanghai `Bounce Back’ football tourney

Competitive football is back and long standing benefactor, Mohamed’s Enterprises is thrilled about it.

Managing Director of the company, Nazar Mohamed said yesterday that he was “certainly happy to see the sport is back.”

Mohamed, who presented a sponsorship cheque to President of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), Wayne Forde to aid in the ‘Bounce Back’ tournament which got underway last night, also commended the principals for staging the event.

“I am happy that the Minister of Sport, the GFF and the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation has taken this initiative and I am happy to be a part of this competition,” he declared.

The business magnate pointed out that he has been sponsoring sports events for the better part of three decades and highlighted that sport is a very important part of bringing people together. He wished the tournament, the players and the organizers success and wished them a happy new year.

Meanwhile, The ‘Bounce Back’ tournament kicked off  yesterday at the National Stadium with Linden All Stars tackling the East Coast All Stars in the curtain raiser of the double header.

The GT All Stars also took on the Westside All Stars in the headliner of the first football tournament staged here amid the pandemic.

The two-day, four-team competition is a collaborative effort involving The GFF, the Kashif and Shanghai (K&S) Organization along with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.

It will be held without spectators and conclude on January 1, 2021.

The final will be held New Year’s Day and will be broadcast live on NCN, E-Networks and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Facebook page.
