The Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) will bring the curtain down on 2020 with the staging of the National Blitz Chess Championship today at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence East Bank Demerara. Action will start from 11:oohrs. The Old Year’s Day tournament will be contested in the Open and Junior categories. Participants are expected to challenge each other in the nine-round Swiss System tournament which has an eight-minute time limit per player for each game which is FIDE rated.
Registration for the Open category is $500 while there is no fee for the juniors.
