Lowenfield court case to continue tomorrow

The court proceedings against Chief Election Officer Keith Lowenfield, Region Four Returning Officer Clairmont Mingo, PNCR chairwoman Volda Lawrence and APNU+AFC agent Carol Joseph, who have been  charged with various offences stemming from their conduct during the finalisation of last year’s elections results, are expected to continue on January 14 and January 28.

Lowenfield, who is facing three charges of misconduct in public office and three counts of forgery, is expected to return to court on January 14.

Mingo has been individually and jointly charged with forgery and conspiracy to defraud in relation to events that followed the March 2, 2020 general and regional elections. Mingo was charged along with Lawrence with one count of conspiring to commit fraud. Mingo is also charged with four counts of misconduct in public office. Additionally, Mingo faces a charge with APNU+AFC agent Joseph. Together they were jointly charged with one count of forgery and they are each also facing two counts of conspiracy to defraud.

The matters involving Mingo, Lawrence and Joseph are due to be heard on January 28.
