Stanleytown man still in hospital seven weeks after accident

Lucius Welcome, the biker who was injured in a collision along the Stanleytown Public Road, West Bank Demerara, seven weeks ago, remains hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Chelauna Providence, the Communications Officer attached to Georgetown Public Hospital, told Stabroek News that Welcome remains a patient in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) in a serious but stable condition.

As a result of the accident, Welcome suffered head injuries and a fractured leg.

Stabroek News had reported that Welcome, 40, was riding a motorcycle north along the western side of the road when he crashed into a car, PXX 7172 and landed some distance away along the western parapet.
