A 33-year-old man was on Monday released on $300,000 bail after he was brought before the court for allegedly posting nude photographs of a minor on his WhatsApp status.
Ryan Seecharran of Kitty, Georgetown, made his appearance before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read to him.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on January 10, 2021, at Kitty, Georgetown, he used a computer system to publish obscene/explicit photographs of the victim via his WhatsApp status to humiliate her, thereby causing her substantial emotional distress.
He was granted bail and is expected to make his next appearance on February 15, when the matter will be called again.
According to the court prosecutor, additional charges are expected to be brought against Seecharran.
