Salesman robbed at Plantation Opposite

Police arrested two men shortly after they robbed a salesman of $150,000 cash and a gold ring on Thursday night at Plantation Opposite, Essequibo.

Police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Royston Andries-Junor in a brief statement yesterday confirmed the robbery which took place around 18.45hrs.

He said two men approached Christopher Harricharan, 43, a sales distributor attached to Suri Trading and relieved him of the cash and a gold ring valued $130,000.

They then escaped.

The matter was reported to the police who went to a house at Charity Housing Scheme, Essequibo and arrested the suspects.

Both men are in police custody assisting with the investigation.
