Miner gets 30 months for armed robbery at Plantation Opposite

Two men were on Monday charged with committing robbery under arms on Christopher Harricharan at Plantation Opposite, Essequibo Coast and one pleaded guilty.

Robin Patrick, a 22-year-old miner of Charity Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, and Munesh Ramsarup, 30, of Charity Back Street, Essequibo Coast, both appeared before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read.

Patrick pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment while Ramsarup pleaded not guilty and was released on $150,000 bail.

They were both arrested on Friday.

The matter was adjourned until February 1.
