Dear Editor,
In Stabroek News’ Editorial ‘Defiance’ (SN, 29th January 2021) SN makes the case that it is ridiculous for Minister Zulfikar Mustapha to hide the identity of whom he issued two fishing trawlers licences to.
It is indeed questionable as why the issuance of fishing trawlers licences have become a state secret. Reminds me of those radio licences that the PPP/C government issued.
While no one is saying it is to friends and families, questions are being asked on social media and rightly so. Once those trawlers start plying their trade, the general public will know to whom the licences were issued to anyway, so why be so evasive?
