Sherwin Rhodius, who was recently injured in an accident along the Dora Public Road, Soesdyke-Linden Highway, remains hospitalised in a serious but stable condition nursing several injuries about his body.

A recent medical update given to this newspaper by a relative, who asked not to be named, revealed that Rhodius, who suffered bruises on the brain, is currently experiencing some bleeding there.

It was also stated that he suffered a fractured skull, orbital fractures in several places around his left eye, a fractured right hand and multiple fractures on the left side of his face.

According to the family member, doctors have warned of the possibility of Rhodius losing his sight in the injured eye as they informed that the situation can change for the better or worse. He is presently unable to see from the affected eye, but his family remains hopeful.

Rhodius, a 46-year-old mechanic of Hadfield Street, Georgetown, was said to have been with his three children at his mother’s residence, when he received a call from Murvey Andrew Madhoo, who requested his help to fix a mechanical issue he encountered with his pick-up truck.

A relative related that Rhodius made his way to where Madhoo was and they were on their way back to the city when they were hit by a truck. Madhoo died in the accident.

The driver of the truck, Troy Van Lewis, has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving charge.
