Ganja farms destroyed at Coomacka Mines

Police ranks on Friday morning destroyed over 20,000 cannabis plants that were found on two farms at Coomacka Mines Upper Demerara River.

The exercise was conducted early yesterday morning by an Inspector and other ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF).

According to a GPF report, the exercise was carried out on two farms measuring about six acres of land with approximately 18,000 cannabis sativa plants, ranging from five inches to 4 feet in height.

Additionally, the report stated that two makeshift camps, one drying area with approximately eight pounds of dried cannabis sativa and three nursery areas consisting of 5,000 cups of cannabis sativa seedlings, were also found.

The camps and the cannabis plants were subsequently destroyed by the ranks.

However, no arrest was made.
