Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) were last night involved in a chase along the Lusignan Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara with a civilian motor vehicle, suspected to have contained illegal drugs.
Details surrounding the operation remain unclear up to press time.
However, Stabroek News understands that the chase ended after the suspect’s car plunged into a nearby trench.
No injury was reported.
It is unclear whether any arrest was made.
