The Ministry of Health today said that four more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 243. The death toll has risen significantly in recent days.
The ministry said that the latest fatalities are two women, one 83-year-old and another 52-year- old from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica). Two males, also died, a 73-year-old from Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne) and a 62-year- old from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica).
All four died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility.
