GBTI launches St. Vincent disaster relief fund

The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited (GBTI) has set up a disaster relief fund to aid St Vincent and the Grenadines as the island group grapples with the effects of the eruption of La Soufrière.

“We at GBTI are known for lending a helping hand to our sister Caribbean Islands in times of these disasters as the bank assisted Bahamas when they were hit by the Hurricane. Once again, the bank has established a disaster relief fund to help St Vincent called the St . Vincent Disaster Relief Fund,” GBTI said in a statement.

It advised that persons who wish to donate could do so by visiting any of its GBTI branches and make their deposits to the fund in the account:

Account Name: ST. VINCENT DISASTER RELIEF FUND

Account Number: 011803403012

Donations can also be made via wire transfers and online payments via GBTI’s electronic banking services.

The relief fund is a collaborative effort between the bank and the Civil Defence Commission.
