Twenty-year-old Shonnette Dover died after being shot in her head, an autopsy performed on the body yesterday revealed.

Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh after examination of the body concluded that Dover died as a result of a single gunshot injury to her head.

He also extracted three ribs from the body which will be used by police to analyze for DNA identification.

Dover, a bartender of Canvas City, Wismar, Linden went missing on the 3rd April 2021 and was found on the morning of April 30th buried in the backyard of the home she shared with her boyfriend, Shaqwuan Alleyne known as ‘ISWE’.

The body was apparently buried after Dover was shot dead.

Information provided to the police alleges that on the night the victim went ‘missing’, her boyfriend was oiling ‘his brownish gun’.

He then pointed the gun at the victim who told him ‘he like play and he should put away that thing.’ The gun reportedly then went off and a bullet struck Dover killing her.

A 15-year-old, who allegedly witnessed the killing, gave investigators information that subsequently led to the discovery of the body in the early hours April 30. Making use of the tip, ranks went into action and dug up the area about four feet down during which they stumbled upon the body of a female, partly decomposed.

Due to the decomposed state of the body, it was difficult to see any marks of violence on the most exposed parts of the body.

A wanted bulletin has since been issued for Alleyne and Police Com-mander Hugh Winter yesterday told Stabroek News that investigators have not been successful in locating the suspect.

Alleyne’s father, who is alleged to have helped to cover up the woman’s death, was also taken into custody.
