Based on Covid-19 protocols there should have been 12 persons under this tent

Dear Editor,

Yesterday I visited a government entity and was advised to go under a tent where there were three lines with an estimated 36 persons under this tent. Based on Covid-19 protocols of 6 feet distancing and the size of this tent, there should have been at least 12 persons under the tent.

Yesterday I sent an email to a senior functionary and also the public relations department of this organization on the matter and I am awaiting their response. My thought after is whether the COVID-19 Task Force has been proactively visiting government buildings to see if protocol is followed in this pandemic.

I would hope that this pandemic can drive more government organizations to provide online services to the public so as best to reduce the amount of persons having to visit. Within this same building on visiting the second floor I did not observe emergency signs or evacuation maps.  Since the recent fire at Sharon’s Mall and the clarion call for revised building codes etc.  I would hope that Health & Safety regulations will also apply to all government buildings.

Sincerely,

Karen Bacchus-Hinds
