A data entry clerk from Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara is in police custody following an alleged attempt to smuggle cannabis into the Lusignan Prison.
The 22-year-old male employee of the Ministry of Home Affairs was detained just after 8 am following a mandatory search. During the search 80 grams of suspected cannabis was discovered in an “Ensure” food drink bottle which was in his haversack.
He was arrested and remains in custody as investigations continue.
