Another COVID death, 104 new infections confirmed

The Ministry of Health on Friday reported a new fatality and 104 new COVID-19 cases.

The latest death was identified as a 67-year-old woman from Region Three, who died while receiving care at a state medical institution.

With her death, the country’s death toll from the virus stands at 442.

A total of 18,837 positive cases have been recorded to date. The new cases which were reported came after some 1,312 more tests were conducted, thus increasing the total number of tests done to date to 174,695.

Cases were recorded in seven of the ten administrative regions, with the majority of the cases being reported in Regions Nine, Four and Ten with 35, 34 and 11 cases, respectively. There are now 1,479 active cases, 108 of which are in institutional isolation, while another 1,371 are in home isolation.

Some 21 persons are currently patients at the COVID-19 Intensive Care unit, while 255 more persons have recovered from the virus.
