Region Four man, 38, woman, 39, succumb to COVID

The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday recorded two new COVID-19 deaths which has pushed the nation’s fatality toll to 468. 

This was disclosed in a MoH press release which identified the victims as a 38-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, both from Region Four who died while receiving care at a medical facility.

Meanwhile, 68 new cases were registered yesterday which has increased the total number in the country to 19,959. The new infections were discovered after some 1,662 more tests, which takes the total number done to 187,309.

The new cases were reported in seven of the ten administrative regions, with regions Four and Nine recording the highest number of cases with 31 and 13 respectively. There are now 1,599 active cases with 91 of these in institutional isolation while another 1,508 are in home isolation.

Thirteen persons are now patients at the COVID-19 ICU while 95 more persons have recovered lifting the total number of recovered cases to 17,879.
