Tuschen man chopped after riders collide

The police are searching for a man who chopped a cyclist during an argument on Thursday at Lalli Dam Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo.

The injured man was identified as Ricardo Singh, also known as ‘Chris,’ 39, of Tuschen Housing Scheme.

According to the police, Singh was riding his bicycle along the Lalli Dam Access Road when he collided with the suspect, who was also riding his bicycle along the same road.

As a result of the collision, both men dismounted their cycles and began arguing. Singh alleges that the suspect whipped out a cutlass from his bicycle and dealt him a chop to one of his forearms before escaping.

The victim was aided by a citizen who rushed him to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where he was seen by a doctor on duty, treated and referred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital. He was thereafter admitted as patient in a stable condition.
