Singer, song writer, guitarist, personal trainer, and bikini champion –  Rosanna Fung is all the above, however she is looking to add Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Championship hardware to her resume.

The 22-year-old statuesque mix of beauty and aesthetics is confident of a podium finish when she makes her international debut next month in El Salvador.

Speaking to this publication yesterday, the Ms Bikini Champion and lone female in the eight-athlete contingent said she is honoured to represent the 592 at the August 12 to 16 event.

“I’m honoured to have been selected to be a part of the CAC team and I feel a great sense of responsibility being the only female on the team.”

Fung who first graced the stage in May 2019, strutting her way to a first-place finish at the Novices Championship, knows she faces her toughest opposition yet, but she is up for the challenge.

“This prep is definitely going to be the toughest of my four thus far considering it’s my first international show and I hadn’t initially intended to compete. I definitely know the competition will be stiff but I will give it my best possible effort and of course I’m going for gold.”

She acknowledged that there are the normal butterflies but emphasised that her eyes are on the prize. “Butterflies are completely normal and expected but for the moment, I’m focused on my goal and manifesting that first place trophy. You miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take, so I’m going to shoot for the stars and maybe I’ll have the clouds to land on if I fail.”

Quizzed on whether she would need sponsorship to compete, Fung had the following to say; “Being an athlete is expensive with the meals and supplements and the bikini, oh my God! The bikini is US $300 for basically two sparkly coconut shells and a loin cloth.”

She then confirmed, “So yes sponsorship is definitely needed and really the only way our athletes will be able to represent the country is on an international stage and that costs money.”  This year’s team is stacked, comprising former Men’s Physique medalists, Emmerson Campbell and Yannick Grimes, multiple gold medalist, Kerwin Clarke, local champions, Darious Ramsammy, Roger Callendar, and Nicholas Albert, along with USA-based Rawle Green.
