ANUG must reach out to both sides of political divide – Ramkarran

A New and United Guyana (ANUG) much reach out to both sides of the political divide, according to its General Secretary, Ralph Ramkarran.

According to a press release from the party, he was speaking at the Annual General Meeting on July 13, 2021.

Ramkarran thanked members for their “unwavering support” in ensuring the integrity of the 2020 elections results and contended that it was the sterling efforts of the party’s members which have brought the name of ANUG to national prominence.

Ramkarran stated that members from the government, civil society and international stakeholders have reached out as a result of the party’s performance over the election period.

Chairman of the party, Timothy Jonas, spoke about its outreach efforts leading up to the elections and commended the joinder seat in parliament held by ANUG, the LJP and TNM.

The release said that Jonas recounted the experiences of party members who witnessed the events at the Ashmins building during the March 2nd elections controversy and lauded their role in ensuring the sanctity of the elections.

Jonas emphasized the need for fresh faces and ideas moving forward and stated that the party cannot relent in empowering the thinking voters who have rejected race politics.

Chairman – Timothy Jonas

General Secretary – Ralph Ramkarran

Assistant General Secretary – Altria King

Finance secretary – to be determined as there were 2 persons with the same number of votes.

Organizing secretary – Kian Jabour.
