Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d), Mark Phillips yesterday toured the head office of Kwakwani Utilities Incorporated (KUI) in Region 10 and met with staff members.

The PM was  in the Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice  community to oversee the distribution of the “Because We Care” and Uniform and Supplies Government grants and also inspected several facilities under the control of KUI.

A release on the PM’s Facebook page said that he visited the Kwakwani power generation plant, the Kwakwani water treatment plant and a newly installed water distribution system which will supply potable water to approximately 400 residents of Jonestown.

Phillips was accompanied by General Manager of KUI, David Adams and Regional Executive Officer (REO) Dwight John.

The team also visited the Kwakwani Waterfront, where the Prime Minister reassured the residents, who are still affected by the flooding, that they will continue to receive Government’s help.
