According to a press release from the GBA, the AIRBadminton initiative was launched at the National Park in December of 2020.

Since then it has been played at the University of Guyana, St. Rose’s High School, the Shuttle Time Programme at the New Amsterdam Secondary School, Berbice High School, Mackenzie High School and the Christianburg Wismar Secondary School.

Recently the GBA teamed up with the NexGen Golf Academy to launch the programme to the young boys and girls of the golf club.

National players Priyanna Ramdhani and Akili Haynes, assisted by Matthew Klautky carried out programme.

Ramdhani and Haynes have qualified for the first Pan American Youth Games in Cali, Colombia, in November.

“We have done a lot during the past months after the pandemic held us down for over a year-and-a-half and we also had our national tournament last month, “ the release ended.
