Two suffer injuries in Region Two vehicular accident

A driver along with another passenger are critical at the Suddie Public Hospital after the vehicle they were in collided with a tree at Cullen, Region Two.

Twenty-three-year-old Ameer Samad of Zorg, Region Two along with 18-year-old Roria Persaud of Zorg were admitted to the Suddie Public Hospital. They are currently nursing injuries to their head, abdomen and hands.

The mangled vehicle on the Cullen Public Road

The incident occurred on Saturday around 11:52 hours on the Cullen Public road. Samad, who was driving motor car PRR 5427, was proceeding south on the eastern driving lane at an allegedly fast rate when he lost control and collided with a tree on the Cullen Public Road. Both driver and passenger were picked up in unconscious condition by public-spirited persons and transported to the Suddie Public Hospital.

According to mother of the injured driver, Oma Devi, her son went to Anna Regina with some friends and was returning home when the accident occurred. Devi said she is still trying to come to grips with the entire situation but is thankful that her son and passenger are still alive.

The police were summoned and are currently investigating the accident.
