India’s 75th Independence Anniversary celebration

As part of India’s 75th Independence Anniversary celebrations, the High Commission of India organised an Indian Cultural Evening on 15th August 2021 at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Bel Air.

According to a release from the Indian High Commission, India’s envoy here Dr. K.J. Srinivasa made opening remarks.  The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mark Phillips and other dignitaries.

The evening included a classical Kathak Dance, a Skit on India’s independence & contemporary India and progress and achievements made by India prepared by Neaz Subhan and performed by his Group.

The Indian Arrival Monument at Palmyra, Corentyne was illuminated on 15th August 2021 as part of the India@75, celebrations and the Government of India’s decision to illuminate 75 iconic buildings/structures/ monuments around the world with the Indian tricolour.
