Ramdhani siblings back on international stage

Top local badminton players Narayan and Priyanna Ramdhani marked their international return recently in the Mexican International Challenge 2021.

The tournament was conducted from September 1 to 5 and saw both gaining higher ranking points as they push towards the 2024 Olympics.

Priyanna, the top female seed is ranked 39th in the Pan American singles women while Narayan is ranked 31st in the men’s singles. In the mixed doubles, the siblings rank 24th.

The Ramdhanis are back in Canada where they are studying and will now prepare for the ACAC and CCAA Championships in Canada where they both were finalists at the Provincials and placed fourth at the Nationals.

Recently, while in Guyana, they both won a national tournament, conducted the Shuttle Time programme in two schools in Linden and two in Berbice and conducted Air Badminton sessions at the University of Guyana and the Nexgen Golf Academy in Georgetown.

They also assisted the local players.

In a release from the Guyana Badminton Association, the body expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, the Guyana Olympic Association and the New Amsterdam Badminton Club for making the international appearances a success.
