As a result of Saturday’s devastating fire at the Brickdam Police Station, Shahab Hack, a businessman of Georgetown and a road safety advocate, has donated in excess of 48 traffic wands and other items to the Guyana Police Force.

The donation was received yesterday by Deputy Commissioner “Operations” Clifton Hickens in his Eve Leary office, in the presence of the Force’s Traffic Officer Superintendent Ramesh Ashram.

The police force said that the businessman in his brief remarks commended the hierarchy of the Guyana Police Force who were on the ground on Saturday lending support to their fellow comrades.

Hack said he was moved seeing how the police responded to the fire and how they were resilient.

Hack encouraged other business entities to come forward and give support to the organization.

Ashram applauded the businessman for his continuous support since the equipment will mainly benefit ranks in his department, working at nights.

The businessman had recently donated 15 traffic wands to Brickdam Police Station and all have been destroyed in the fire.
