Flying Ace Cycling Club talisman, Balram Narine, is eager to get on back the saddle after receiving a major boost from J&S Taxi Service.

At a simple ceremony on Tuesday, Narine was given a financial donation by the Main and Alexander Streets, New Amsterdam-based transportation service.

The 23-year-old was off the bicycle for over a year, missing out on major events due to a medical issue. Now, he has begun preparation to move to the top of the cycling fraternity.

He thanked the taxi service for its timely contribution.

“I highly appreciate this,” Narine said.

“I will do my best to make them proud and show them they have made an impact in my career and I am extremely grateful to them,” he added.

Coach and President of the Flying Ace Cycle Club, Randolph Roberts, also expressed gratitude to the taxi service for its investment in sports and the development of the young wheelsman.

“First word when I asked them they came on board without hesitation,” he said.

“I would like to thank them publicly for their support,” he added.

According to Roberts, Narine is currently working on his fitness and conditioning and is expected to make his competitive return later this month in a Berbice-based event.

The coach explained that Narine is one of the shinning lights of the club and commended him for his dedication and discipline.

“Balram is a good kid, he listens and works hard to improve his skills, he is humble and I would always recommend him,” Roberts said.
