The Miss and Mr categories are expected to have ten contestants each. The pageant is slated for mid next year and the theme for season two is ‘Panthera Onca (Jaguar), Fearless’. For the local leg of the competition, contestants will compete in National Costume, Talent, Humanitarian Project, Tourism Speech, Swimwear, Evening Wear, and Runway Fashion.

For the humanitarian project, National Director Roshini Boodhoo of Elite Pageant Company – Guyana, which holds the franchise, explained that instead of each contestant being assigned a project, they will work in groups. This makes it easier for after the pageant, if a contestant wants to pursue a project, instead of having to do so alone, there will be other contestants already involved to work with.

Apart from the Mr and Miss Model Tourism World Guyana, Elite Pageant Company has taken over the responsibility of several other local pageants. It is also in partnership with Elite Pageant Company – Trinidad run by designer, pageant enthusiast and coach Sohan Badall. Though the two companies remain independent of each other when hosting their respective local pageants, they have plans to collaborate on other pageant ventures and with respect to promoting tourism.

Guyana’s first representatives for the international leg of the pageant, which was hosted virtually, Raveena Mangal and Paul Charles, emerged as winners of the Mr and Miss Model Tourism of the World titles, besting their peers from 13 countries. The reigning king and queen also carted off the most awards for the competition. The Mr and Miss Model Tourism of the World is focused on promoting tourism, culture, travel and youth development worldwide.
