Essequibo bus driver arrested for getting school girls intoxicated

A 25-year-old bus driver of Anna Regina, Region Two was arrested yesterday and is currently in custody at the Anna Regina police station. The three girls he is alleged to have plied with alcohol and cannabis have all regained consciousness and two have been discharged from hospital.

They were interviewed and informed detectives of the bus driver’s name. The police immediately arrested the driver.

According to a reliable source, the girls left for school but didn’t attend classes, instead they went to hang out. 

Teachers and education officers were called in to take the children to the hospital. When they arrived at the locations the girls were unconscious. 

The girls attend secondary school on the Essequibo Coast and are in grades 9, 10 and 11.
