There is little fuss related to the investigation as to how a child could be found floating in a canal, in Guyana, and no one has reported a child missing. December 31st 2021 and the news item of a headless boy baby found floating in a canal in Land of Canaan. No one is missing him. December 5 2020, a girl baby found without a hand in a canal in Crane, West Coast Demerara. Nobody apparently is missing that baby. Two children, a year apart as more oil is found and democracy apparently is flourishing.
No reports from the maternal health sector to say what could be done in case people give birth, or what people should do if their children die and they put them into canals? Have other children in our oil democracy been placed in other spaces, never to be found? In our 2022 democracy, are there girls and women who are giving birth alone, without help? Do the police care to find out in those communities, what is going on? Who is responsible for the justice for those two dead babies, unwanted found in canals, a year apart?
