Some 438 new COVID-19 cases were yesterday recorded and the current active total stands at over 6,000.
This was revealed in the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard which showed that the country’s new cases came after some 1,680 more tests were done. According to the dashboard there are some 6,121 active cases, 8 of whom are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit.
No new death was reported and the total number of fatalities as a result of the virus stands at 1,070.
In recent days, high numbers of new COVID cases have been reported and this has been attributed to the likely arrival of the Omicron variant. Deaths have however not risen commensurately.
