Dear Editor,
In his opening remarks on The 35th Sitting of the house, Prime Minister Mark Phillips issued the following sentiments, and I thought it best that I should share the high points in that address. Firstly he said, we are a government of, and for all of Guyana, including those in the Opposition, which is another call for national unity and inclusive governance. He was solidifying the core sentiments of the One Guyana plan, something that has long since being heralded by The PPP/C administration. No longer would we tolerate the retrograde party politics of yesteryear to overwhelm us. The ‘us and them’, ‘winner take all’ theory approach to governance is all gone now, it is the nation of Guyana on the move. In this regard, the people of this great country has been given the full assurance that the way ahead is safe to follow.
