(Trinidad Guardian) – A worker was shot dead after he tried to escape during a robbery at a jewellery store on High Street, San Fernando, yesterday. He has been identified as Andy Alberto Hosein, 33.
Guardian Media was told that around 10.30 am four bandits ran into Ketan Jewellers with guns saying it was a hold-up. They began breaking the showcase and grabbing the jewelry. Hosein who was close to the door ran out of the store and was shot in the back. The bandits escaped. A crowd gathered around his body as they expressed shock and horror over the brazen incident. His relatives arrived shortly after and were inconsolable as they watched his lifeless body on the ground.
