East Canje man dies after slamming into NA arch

An East Canje, Berbice poultry farmer died  after he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into the New Amsterdam arch located along Main Road during the wee hours of yesterday.

Dead is Raule Victor, 38, a poultry farmer of Lot 97 Percy Smith Street, Number Two Village.

According to information gathered, Victor and a passenger, Mario Ramacindo, 23, of Lot 19 Sheet Anchor Village were leaving New Amsterdam in his motorcar, PHH 9366, allegedly at a fast rate of speed, when he lost control and slammed into the base of the (New Amsterdam) arch located along Main Road, New Amsterdam.

The men were both picked up in an unconscious condition and rushed to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.

Stabroek News was told that Victor succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the institution, while Ramacindo has since been admitted in a serious condition. He reportedly suffered a fractured hip.

On Sunday evening around 10 pm, a  car slammed into Big B’s restaurant located along Main Road, New Amsterdam and injured two persons in the process.
