The suspect in the murder of 24-year-old Carlos Waithe, a clothes vendor is still to be found.
Two days after the February 7 fatal shooting, a wanted bulletin was issued for Akeem Rajkumar known as ‘Barney’ for questioning in relation to the murder of Waithe. However, Rajkumar has still not been found.
The police in a bulletin had said that anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Rajkumar is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 226-6977, 225-8196, 226-9941, 226-1326, 225-3061, 225-3650, 911 or the nearest police station.
A relative of the deceased told Stabroek News that she had heard that the suspect had already fled the country for neighbouring Suriname. “
Waithe was shot in the wee hours of February 7th along Leopold Street, between Breda and Smyth Streets while he was allegedly parting a fight between his friends.
