The Guyana Police Force (GPF) yesterday said that the body of an unidentified man was on Wednesday found along the Met-en-Meerzorg Public Road, West Coast Demerara.
According to a Guyana Police Force release, at about 16:40 hrs on Wednesday, an unknown person who saw the body called the Regional Division #3 police and reported the discovery. The police said that according to the call, the person was lying motionless along the Met-en-Meerzorg Public Road, West Coast Demerara.
The ranks who responded to the call reported that the man, about 60-years-old, was seen lying face down and he was motionless. The body was then escorted to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where it was examined by a doctor on duty and was pronounced dead.
The police said there were no marks of violence seen on the body. The body was then transported to the Ezekiel Funeral Home and is awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
