North Road resident claims noise reports about neighbour being ignored

A resident of North Road, Lacytown, says a neighbour has been constantly disturbing  her by playing loud music and her reports to police have not yielded any positive outcome.

She is complaining about the noise nuisance coming from the neighbouring Game Xpress store’s tenant.

The resident of Lot 26 North Road, Lacytown, Georgetown, who identified herself as Ms. Callender, told Stabroek News that she has been experiencing difficulties with the tenant who is currently renting a separate building at the rear of the Game Xpress store, which is also owned by the business’ owner, Audie Henriques.

According to Callender, last weekend her sleeping schedule was ruined due to the continuous playing of loud music, which started at approximately 18:00 hrs on Saturday and lasted up until 01:00 hrs on Sunday morning.

The woman also stated that although many complaints have made to the Alberttown Police Station, often nothing would be done. When she called them last Saturday, she said, an officer was dispatched to the home of her neighbour and made checks and then left. Callender said that just a few minutes after, loud sounds were heard on her house and she discovered that three large rocks had been thrown towards her home.

Callender said her neighbour’s landlord, Henriques, would briefly look into her complaints but would always take the side of his tenant. However, when this newspaper contacted the owner of the business, he said that he wasn’t aware of the woman’s claims.

Callender is pleading with the relevant authorities to look into her plea since she continues to live in turmoil in her home and her neighbourhood.
