GTT Super6 tapeball competition set for this weekend

Initially scheduled to be hosted at the National Cultural Centre Tarmac, Mandela Avenue, the Georgetown Office Assistants Promotional Committee (GOAPC) will now stage the GTT ‘Super 6 over Tape-ball Cricket Competition’ on Saturday and Sunday at the Durban Park venue.

This was confirmed following an official press release from the GOAPC. The correspondence also disclosed that the ministry teams and community sides are down to participate, adding that group ‘A’ will comprise the ministries, while community teams will feature in group ‘B’.

Each team will be allowed eight players. All players must be fully vaccinated to participate.

“Teams must register with the organizer GOAPC and the coordinator James ‘Uprising’ Lewis and must be contacted at 625-9007 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, Protocol Department”, the release stated.

The tournament has received the approval by the National Covid-19 taskforce. All COVID-19 protocols and systems will be in place. Winner of the tournament will pocket $100,000 and the GTT trophy, while the runner-up will collect $60,000 and the respective accolade. Tomorrow is the final date for the registration of the teams.
