Almost two months after his arrest, Linden labourer Jamal Forde was on Thursday charged with raping a minor.
Forde, 29, of Lot 2 Wisroc, Wismar Linden, had been arrested on December 30, 2021 in connection with the offence but was remanded on an attempted murder charge when he was arraigned days later.
However, on Thursday he was charged with the offence of rape of a child under 16 years, which occurred on December 29, 2021.
He was not required to plea and was remanded to prison when he appeared via Zoom before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at Linden Magistrate’s Court.
The matter was adjourned until March 30.
