Windsor Forest pedestrian, 66, dies after accident

Fiuz Hussaine, age 66,  of  Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara (WCD) died this morning following an accident.

The police said in a statement that at around 5.30 am, motorcar #PMM 3502 was proceeding west on the southern side of the Windsor Forest Public Road, WCD when  it was alleged by the driver that he saw the pedestrian walking on the southern parapet of the road heading west while on his cellphone. The police said that the driver alleged that the pedestrian made a sudden turn right onto the main road into the path of the car, the front of  which hit the pedestrian. As a result of the collision the pedestrian fell on the road where he suffered injuries to his left foot and head.

The police said that he was picked up in an unconscious state by the driver and taken to West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was examined by a doctor on duty who referred him to Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was further examined by a doctor on duty and admitted as a patient suffering from head injuries. He subsequently died.
