Windsor Forest pedestrian died from multiple crush injuries

Shazad Mohamed, the 60-year-old pedestrian who was struck down and killed on Christmas Eve on Temple Street, Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara died as a result of  multiple crush injuries, according to the post mortem examination conducted yesterday morning by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh.

According to an earlier report carried by yesterday’s Stabroek News edition, Mohamed, of Temple Street, Windsor Forest, was struck down while walking and pushing his bicycle on the said Temple Street by a motor lorry GAF 4320, driven by Reyad Mohamed, a 21-year-old who is also a resident of Temple Street. Enquiries disclosed that lorry GAF 4320 was reversing from west going east, when the vehicle hit the pedestrian who was behind the lorry. As a result, Mohamed fell and was ran over by the left-side front wheel of the lorry.  He was picked up in an unconscious state and conveyed to Leonora Cottage Hospital where he was examined and pronounced dead on arrival.
