Barry wins dominoes competition

Lorna Barry won the South Turkeyen Sports Committee (STSC) dominoes competition  which was held at Sharon’s Hideout, C Field Sophia recently.

Barry prevailed over Glenford Stephens and Christopher Squires to walk away with the championship trophy and a cash incentive.

Long-serving sport enthusiast Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell, will host a two-day birthday celebration football competition on April 2nd and 3rd at the Vryheid’s Lust tarmac. Matches will be hosted in the U14, U16 and senior sections.

Among the sponsors of the event are Ken Phillips, of Antarctic Maintenance, Georgetown, Deputy Mayor, Alfred Mentore, Attorney-at-Law, Joseph Harmon, P&P Insurance, Jacobs Jewellery and Pawn Shop and Kerwayne Perry.

 Meanwhile, Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) ‘A’ won the Georgetown Office Assistants Promotional Committee coordinated ‘Inter Ministries/Government Agencies dominoes competition on Friday.

Hosted at the Guyana Public Service Union (GPSU) Hall, Regent Street and Shiv Chanderpaul Drive, GGMC ‘A’ prevailed in the final, tallying  47 games to walk away with the championship trophy and $100,000.

GGMC ‘B’ finished second with 40 games while the Guyana Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) was third 39 games. The event was coordinated by veteran sports enthusiast James ‘Uprising’ Lewis.
