Harripaul must not confine his concerns to the Hindu society only

Dear Editor,

Social ills are not unique to the Hindu community and must not be used as the yardstick by Harripaul to measure, define or pronounce on Hinduism since such behaviours and practices are found in every society. For Mr. Harripaul, it is only “Hindu youths are being destroyed by rum and noise”! Malcolm Harripaul penned that he walked the villages on the West Coast Demerara, last year, and encouraged Hindu youths against rum, drugs et al., and advised them to go to Mandirs, join the GDF and Guyana Police Force. If he is truly concerned about youths, and their welfare, don’t confine it to the Hindu society.

Sincerely,

Pt. C. Nandalall
