The 592 Beer ‘Skills for Cash’ seven-a-side football tournament will kick-off today at the Number 5 Ground, West Coast, Berbice, with a doubleheader.
In the opening match at 18:00 hours, Airy Hall will lock horns with Number 28. In the feature affair at 20:00hrs, home side, Number 5, will match skills with Ithaca. The event will resume tomorrow at the Victoria Community Centre ground.
The tournament will also be hosted on Sunday at the Rosignol Community ground and will feature teams from Berbice and East Coast Demerara communities. They are: Cougar, Rosignol United, Monedderlust United, Hope Town, Number 30 Village, Number 42 Village, Paradise United, Airy Hall, Mahaica, Ann’s Grove United, Victoria Kings United, Golden Stars, Paradise, and Melanie FC.
Each team will be allowed three guest players. The winner of the event will pocket $300,000, with the second, third and fourth place finishers receiving $200,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
