Hilton ‘Champ’ Lewis 103 not out

Minister of Human Services and Social Security,  Dr. Vindhya Persaud on Thursday joined Hilton ‘Champ’ Lewis in his birthday celebrations.

`Champ’, a former teacher for 39 years turned 103 on Thursday. Lewis was born in 1919 and during his lifetime won numerous competitions both academically and in athletics.

A post on the ministry’s Facebook page said that Hilton grew up on Carmichael Street in Georgetown and had seven siblings who are now all dead.

The Facebook post said that he spends his days now listening to cricket and football on his radio.
