Eagles clinched the opening contest 3-1 of their five match semifinal series against Young Achievers when the Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) Senior Men’s League continued on Friday.
Staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue, Eagles took the first set 25-23. However, Young Achievers responded in equal measure to level the contest at 1-1, after winning the second set 28-26.
Nonetheless, Eagles reclaimed the advantage winning the pivotal third set 25-23 and the contest was put to bed in the fourth set which Eagles won 25-23.
The event continues on Tuesday at the same venue with the second match in the five game series.
