Ethan Lee, Ricardo Narine qualify for junior national c/ships

Ethan Lee won his top-of-the-table fifth round clash against top seed Rajiv Lee to take sole possession of the lead in the Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) Junior national championships qualifiers on Monday at the Providence National Stadium.

After six round Ethan Lee and Ricardo Narine secured spots in the Junior Nationals regardless of the outcome of their remaining matches.

Narine defeated all of his opponents but drew his sixth round clash with Ethan Lee.

They each have 5.5 points while Rajiv Lee, Ronan Lee, Matthew Singh and

Keron Sandiford are all on five points.

Kyle Couchman and Jaden Taylor are on four points.

Approximately 15 players are vying for the last five places in yesterday’s final round.
