The Ministry of Health yesterday said that one more person who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,227.
The latest death is that of an unvaccinated woman, 90, of Region Four who died yesterday.
Prior to this death, the last COVID fatality was reported on March 16th. It was of an 83-year-old Region Six woman who succumbed on March 15.
Meanwhile, the ministry yesterday reported nine new cases of COVID-19. One person is in the ICU.
Nearly 900,000 vaccine doses have been administered since the inoculation campaign started, according to Ministry of Health figures.
